At Yalla Deals, we take your safety, privacy, and data security very seriously. We strive to improve our services and processes, and we want you to remain safe whenever you buy or sell online. Find out how to stay safe.

Keep your wits about you while selling!

Follow these safety guidelines to keep scammers and fraudsters at bay when selling:

1. It's better to use the built-in Yalla Chat feature than external messaging apps such as WhatsApp. Even though WhatsApp is available on Yalla Deals (as a contact option), it may be safer for you to use Yalla Chat since we may monitor chat messages for fraud, phishing messages, and spam prevention. We can't monitor what happens outside the platform.

2. We encourage you to exercise caution and use your best judgment whenever you submit any information to another user. Don't share your personal information with anyone, even if they claim to be from Yalla Deals. Our official email is [email protected]. Never respond to any other sender who claims to be us.

3. Don't ship your item to anyone in exchange for a wire transfer or any other payment method such as sending money through an exchange. If a buyer claims to be overseas, never ship your item. Scammers may use fake wire transfer "proof" to deceive you into sending them your item. Whatever good reason they give you, please don't believe it.

4. The best and safest way to sell your item is to sell it face-to-face in a public setting (except perhaps for furniture). It's probably safer not to provide your home address nor let a stranger come into your house.

5. Never share your bank details, such as your credit card or account. Yalla Deals will never ask you for your bank account details.

6. If you suspect fraud, alert us immediately by contacting us.

Keep your wits about you while buying!

Follow these guidelines when buying items on Yalla Deals:

1- The most important thing to remember when buying is never to send money to anyone, especially someone abroad, no matter what story they tell you. For example, if you're buying a car, never wire money to the seller unless you see the vehicle in person (not just pictures). This way, you can prevent fraud and potential mistakes. Never make advance or cash payments until you have successfully processed the ownership of the vehicle via RTA in Dubai (or the relevant authority for that particular emirate in the UAE). Stay alert; this is most likely a scam if the seller asks for a full deposit amount in advance or cash payment.

2- As with selling, never share your personal information with another user, even if they claim to be from Yalla Deals. Our official email is [email protected]. Never respond to any other sender who claims to be us.

3- If you're buying or renting a property in Dubai, it's recommended that you ask the real estate agent to present their Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) Broker ID card. Be wary of illegal brokers or freelancers, as you may increase your risk for fraud.

4- Don't pay in advance to book a unit, and always ask for a receipt whenever you make any payment. Ask for the real estate agency's address and verify that they do exist.

5- Never make payments to a real estate agent outside their company; always make sure that payments are made within the company's premises. Also, never issue checks to the real estate agent or broker; make sure all checks are issued in the name of the real estate company or owner of the property. Always use checks instead of cash, as authorities can trace checks if you get scammed.

4- If you're dealing with a landlord, ask them to present the property's original title deed. Never buy a property without verifying ownership first. This way, you can rest assured that the property is registered under their name. You can also verify their ownership by contacting the Dubai Land Department (DLD). If you're dealing with someone who claims to be selling the property on behalf of the landlord, ask them to present a Power of Attorney (POA). A POA is a document that allows the landlord to appoint a person or organization to manage their property and sell it on their behalf.

5- If you plan to rent, you should immediately ask for Ejari once you sign the contract as the lease will be registered on DLD's platform via the Ejari website. The Ejari document makes your agreement legally binding.

6- In addition to personally inspecting the property yourself, we recommend obtaining an inspection report called a Property Condition Assessment or PCA. A PCA outlines observations and opinions related to the subject property's condition to remedy any material physical deficiencies observed, opines on the subject property's overall physical condition, and describes various components and systems. PCAs are essential before buying your property. If you don't, you might end up with an ugly (and expensive) surprise.

7- If you're purchasing a used car, we recommend obtaining a Technical Vehicle Status Certificate and a Comprehensive Vehicle Test from an RTA-approved vehicle test center such as Tasjeel. This way, you'll know if the vehicle has any defects and will be able to avoid problems. We don't own nor do we currently certify any car listings on our site. All cars are owned by third-party sellers. To view the complete list of RTA-approved testing centers for vehicle inspections :

8- Check this local website from EVG, which stands for the Emirates Vehicle Gate Electronic Services for all Drivers and Vehicle Owners in the UAE. You can view the accident history of each of your vehicles and manage motor accident claims, generate repair estimates and get online approvals while being able to monitor the repair progress at all times.
